2011 National CRDCN Conference on Aging

Last fall, University of Alberta's RDC hosted the 2011 CRDCN National Conference where researchers, policymakers and practitioners from across Canada took part in a critical examination of the many social and economic issues arising from population aging. Several Power Point presentations are now available, including key note speech by Susan McDaniel and presentations by renowned experts such as Norah Keating, Janet Fast, Peter Hicks and Michael Wolfson. Cochrane Canada 2012 Symposium

The 10th annual symposium of Cochrane Canada will be held in Winnipeg on May 9 and 10, 2012. The theme of the Symposium is Health Evidence for ALL. Abstracts for oral presentation, posters and workshops can now be submitted on the following topics: Engaging with the Evidence; ensuring equity in the evidence; what works in evidence production and use for all? Public Health in Canada: Creating and Sustaining Healthy Environments

Forthcoming conference on circumpolar health

To celebrate the inauguration of a new RDC branch in Yellowknife, the first to be established north of 60º and outside campus, the Institute for Circumpolar Health Research organizes an international conference on circumpolar health on October 31, 2011.

Call for Poster Presentations for Student Researchers of the CRDCN

In preparation for the "International Conference on Social Statistics, Poverty and Social Exclusion: perspectives from Quebec, Canada and Abroad" organized by the QICSS, students undertaking work on this subject in the CRDCN are invited to submit a proposal for a poster presentation by August 15.
